The Australian Institute of Robotics was started in 2016 to deliver STEM outreach to students in indigenous rural communities. We believe that the future of work is automated, making it critical to get students hands-on experience with programming, robotics and the application of science and maths concepts to the real world. Our team has developed a concentrated curriculum that covers design, build and programming for robots. We're using MINDSTORMS EV3 kits so that the technology is accessible and fun. (Thanks to Lego Australia for donating kits).Currently we are teaching children in from Grades 1 through 7. We believe this is old enough to grasp complex concepts but young enough to have fun in the process.
